KDGC has received acclaim both from the golfing community and industry commentators on its challenge, uniqueness and course design. Playing at 6700 yards from the back tees, course management is of the essence as all holes are tree-lined and the topography includes five long flat holes to start, followed by creek valley and upland holes. The Oshawa Creek comes into play on eight holes. At #10 hole, the signature hole for the back nine, you face a risk/reward decision off the tee: to carry the creek or not. At the elevated #14 tee, considered one of the top par 3 holes in the region at 232 yards, accuracy and length is needed. #17 par 5, voted the 6th most outstanding hole in the Greater Toronto Area, was designed for conservative or aggressive play with the decision to be made on the second shot. Conservative play as detailed in the course guide will be rewarded by par or a good Birdie. Aggressive play after a long drive to the green, by fairway wood (200 yard + carry over the creek valley) will bring Eagle/Birdie into play.
